ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ announces a significant extension to its non-metallics testing capabilities at its flagship Oil & Gas facility in Houston, TX. Extending collaboration with key industry partners, including Oil Majors and their supply chain partners, the facility now offers high pressure high temperature (HPHT) fluid exposure capabilities for the qualification of non-metallic materials.

The new capability will allow the facility to evaluate material performance, according to appropriate industry standards such as Norsok-M710 and ISO 23936, in fluid compatibility; rapid gas decompression (RGD) resistance; chemical ageing resistance (including sour); and long-term durability. The new high pressure testing laboratory will be fully operational from July 2015.

The addition of new Houston capabilities reflects the strength of Oil & Gas polymer testing across ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½’s Global platform. ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Hitchin, UK opened a new high pressure high temperature laboratory in September 2014, further strengthening its world-leading position in Oil & Gas non-metallic materials testing and product qualification.

Rod Martin, ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½’s Executive Vice President, Oil & Gas, comments: “The addition of a further non-metallics testing laboratory to the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Houston facility represents a significant step towards our goal of becoming the best and most trusted testing partner for our clients in the Oil & Gas sector. We are ready to deliver on the requirements of our industry partners, wherever they need us, allowing them to access our expertise across our Global platform.”

ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Houston will also play a part in the upcoming JEC Americas Composites Show and Conferences at the George R. Brown convention center in Houston, TX, with Rod Martin delivering his paper, “Composite Materials: An Enabling Material for Offshore Piping Systems”, during the morning session on Thursday 4 June 2015.
