LONDON, UK – June 24, 2015 – Element has further strengthened its global Composites Materials Testing capabilities for the Aerospace sector, through yet another major investment in its facility in Los Angeles, CA. The expansion and relocation of the former Delsen Testing Laboratories significantly expands its capacity and introduces leading edge testing technologies designed specifically to service the Aerospace Primes and their supply chain partners operating in the Aerospace hub on the West Coast, US.
ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Los Angeles is a 23,000 square foot facility that specializes in providing materials testing of advanced composite materials and other non-metallic materials including adhesives, plastics and polymers, elastomers, aircraft interior materials and ceramics to the Aerospace sector. The lab also provides electrical properties testing, thermal analysis and flammability testing and is both Nadcap and A2LA accredited.
Later this year, the newly expanded ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Cincinnati laboratory will also become fully operational. This state of the art, 65,000 square foot facility will be a Center of Excellence for the application of ceramics within the next generation of jet engines currently under development and also be a dedicated technology center for the application of additive manufacturing processes and related testing methods again for the Aerospace sector.
Rick Sluiters, ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½’s Executive Vice President, Aerospace, comments: “This latest investment by ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ further underlines our continued commitment on our journey to becoming the best and most trusted testing partner to the global Aerospace sector. Following its acquisition, the former Delsen Testing Laboratories has now been successfully and fully integrated into the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ global platform. The relocation of this facility gives our clients access to greater capacity, as well as improved facilities that will allow us to continue to service their ever-changing demands.”
