Speaking to key representatives in the Automotive and Aerospace sectors, with attendees including Ford, Chrysler Group, General Motors and EnerSys, ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Warren’s Senior Engineer, David Prettenhofer, will discuss battery applications and testing such as modeling safety performance; thermo-electrochemical modeling; abuse modeling; and developing testing methodologies for ECE R100 compliance.
Accurate algorithms are required to determine the state of a battery, which helps improve battery life and maximize usable capacity. If a more precise state of charge can be determined, and overall battery health can be better assessed, it is possible to improve use of batteries and manage degradation more effectively.
ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½’s Chris LaMothe, Executive Vice President, Transportation and Industrials, comments: “ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½’s expertise lies in assisting customers in developing safer and longer-lasting batteries. It’s not about getting the best ‘pass result’ for materials or products – we have an in-depth understanding of how issues occur in the real world, which allows clients to use our results to develop the most pertinent solutions.
“We have a significant presence in the industries we operate in, and through participating in events with technical leaders, scientists, engineers, buyers and senior executives, we can continue to maintain and develop key relationships.”
Rejoining ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Warren in July, David has spent the past four years working with international clients in battery life and safety testing. His appointment will enhance ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½’s knowledge and contact base in this field.
The Battery Show will take place on September 16-18, with David presenting on the final morning at 10.45am.
