AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS – July 31, 2014 – ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½, the largest independent materials testing company in the US, is significantly expanding the scope of its in-house Aerospace services through a new low-lubricity aircraft fuel testing capability.

This investment at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½’s laboratory in Jupiter, FL, removes the need to outsource part of its fuel systems and components testing, creating a uniquely comprehensive service and substantially reducing lead times for clients. 

The BOCLE (Ball on Cylinder Lubricity Evaluator) will measure levels of fuel lubricity that affect aircraft fuel systems and components. Jet fuel can be run through large capacity clay bed filters to adjust the lubricity of the fuel – with additional possibilities to condition the fluid to extreme low or high temperatures.

On bringing this technology in-house, Rick Sluiters, ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½’s EVP, Aerospace, comments: “Every year, the conditions under which fuel components and systems must be tested become increasingly demanding.
