LONDON, UK – April 25, 2016 – ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½’s leading Transportation expertise is in demand as OEMs and suppliers race to deliver autonomous vehicles. Element has completed a significant CAPEX investment at its electrical testing laboratory in Warren, MI to align with customer’s growth strategies from increased market demands. The location has expanded capacity and increased capability in electrical engineering testing and now has the ability to test a wider range of electrical components including higher current applications.

Demonstrating significant growth since the capability was added at the location in 2014, the suite of tests supports validation (design validation and product validation) as well as research and development (R&D) of increasingly complex vehicle systems, testing all aspects of electrical systems for Transportation clients across the sector.

By partnering with OEMs and their suppliers, ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ is at the forefront of testing technology to help create fuel efficient, safer and more autonomous vehicles. ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Warren is ISO 17025 accredited, as well as having a range of Transportation industry approvals with GM, Chrysler, Ford, and other Tier 1 suppliers serving partners locally in the US and globally.

John R. Nelson, ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½’s Executive Vice President, Transportation and Industrials, comments: “In 2014, we made a strategic investment by adding to our Transportation sector capabilities at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Warren and we have worked closely with key clients to enhance and expand these services by adding new equipment and expertise. Doubling capacity represents clear success and shows we are delivering on the demands of the sector in a real growth area.

“As the industry moves closer to creating fully autonomous vehicles, an enhanced variety of testing expertise will be required. We are meeting those industry requirements for clients, while also delivering on ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½’s commitment to provide a market-leading service for the sector. This means solving client challenges with a consultative approach as a trusted testing partner.

ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Warren’s electrical engineering testing capabilities include: parasitic current, crank pulse, sinusoidal superimposed voltage, pulse superimposed voltage, power and ground offset, supply voltage variations, open circuit and short circuit conditions, high-potential and insulation resistance, and specialized pulse or electrical stresses applied to electric and electronic systems and components, including data recording up to 1 GHz and custom LabVIEW and CAN / LIN data acquisition solutions.
