LONDON, UK – May 23, 2016 – ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½’s Engaged Expert Steve Hayes is collaborating with a number of key industry stakeholders to develop a new set of global regulations for the emerging wireless power transfer (WPT) technology market which will dramatically effect a range of industry sectors, including the electric vehicle market in the Automotive industry.
Worldwide industry experts in electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic capability (EMC) are currently drafting new standards for the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the CISPR (Comité International Spécial des Perturbations Radioélectriques) to harmonize international testing standards for wireless power transfer applications. Once published, these standards will roll-out across regulatory regimes across the world, as significant new uses of WPT reach production phases.
Charles Noall, President and CEO of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½, comments: “ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½’s Engaged Experts regularly play a key role in the formation of industry standards and regulations because they are world-leading authorities in their subject areas. Major wireless power transfer (WPT) technological advances are currently in development, so there is a critical need for new, safe and internationally viable standards in the near-term. Steve’s work in the development of standards for WPT will have a significant impact on what is a real growth area, particularly within the manufacture of electric vehicles, which are set to deliver a range of benefits for manufacturers and their supply chain partners. And as ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ plays a central role in the international development of standards, our clients are able to access leading expertise, with our Engaged Experts operating at the forefront of new technological advances and with insight into their commercial implications.”
ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Warwick’s Steve Hayes has extensive experience in the development of regulatory standards. He is the current chair of the EMC Test Labs Association, and the chair of the European Commission’s Association of Notified Bodies relating to the EMC Directive. He also works with the European Commission, representing the interests of EU Notified Bodies with respect to the EMC Directive, and acts as a contributing author to official guidance regarding the Directive and its application.
