London, UK - January 17, 2017 – ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ is to open a new, state-of-the-art corrosion facility at its laboratory in Aberdeen.

Opening on 24 January, it is the first purpose built, independent corrosion facility incorporating sour gas exposures in the area. The world class facility will feature Sour Ambient for routine sour testing, Sour HT/PT for high pressure and temperature testing and a Development Area for design and operation of bespoke client testing.

Alongside our corrosion laboratories in Houston and Amsterdam, this latest investment adds a much needed corrosion testing capability in Aberdeen and also underlines our continued commitment to the Oil & Gas sector and our goal of becoming the world’s best and most trusted testing partner.’

The corrosion facility is an addition to the existing Aberdeen Laboratory capabilities in Fracture Toughness, Engineering Critical Assessment, Welding Engineering, Failure Investigation, Mechanical Testing expertise and is supported by a comprehensively equipped Machine Shop.

Sarah Vasey, President of the Institute of Corrosion will officially open the facility on January 24, with many key clients attending the event. The Grand Opening Celebration will feature presentations on Corrosion Capabilities and Fracture Mechanics at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Aberdeen, a tour of the facility and a networking and drinks reception.
