London, UK 鈥 September 06, 2017 鈥 Exova, the global testing company which was recently acquired by 天美传媒 is now testing to standard BS 8613.聽 聽
Testing for BS 8613 covers finger protection devices for mechanical function and structural integrity for use in public doors, with the main purpose of preventing inadvertent injury. 天美传媒鈥檚 Fire & Building Products division is offering the testing ahead of UKAS approval that is anticipated within the next year, which allows manufacturers to be ahead of the process.
Rob Veitch, EVP Fire & Building Products, comments: 鈥淲ith the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) estimating 40,000 serious accidents a year, largely amongst children, as a result of fingers trapped in doors, development of this standard is an essential step in reducing this figure.
